St. Nicholas Ranch Summer Camp
by Michelle Hawe
Summer camp is around the corner. Our Metropolis Summer Camp offers our youth the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ as well as develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Each day of camp is non-stop. A day consists of Orthros and Vespers, sessions including Orthodox Life, swimming, hiking, a visit to the Monastery, arts and crafts, theater, a trip to Sequoia National Park and more. Evening activities vary from Sports night to camp fires at the lake to skit night and more. Camp meals are well-balanced and are home-cooked.
As a parish, we will be well represented at St. Nicholas. Yianni and Kristen Smyrni (and their family), Sam Johnson, Christian Burkhard, and I will all be on
staff. Fr. Christopher will also be joining us for most of the first session!
If you are interested in sending your child to camp please download the form attached to this blog entry. The Sacramento Endowment Fund will provide each of our campers a scholarship of $250 to offset the costs for families. If families have financial need please let Fr. Christopher or me know so we can make Camp possible for all of our youth that want to attend.
If you have any questions about camp or any of our youth and young adult ministries, please contact me. I look forward to enjoying and working at this
year’s Festival with you!
