Christian Education

Our Parish provides opportunities for the entire Christian family to “Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).  Our Christian Education Program maintains as a primary focus the fulfillment of this Biblical directive.  This is achieved by providing study opportunities for the members of our Parish family, all of which attempt to instill the beauty of growing in understanding, as well as living and experiencing the fullness of our Faith.  Whether it’s celebrating services, praying at home, offering our stewardship, or simply functioning as a Christian family, Orthodox Christianity offers us numerous, invaluable tools to live our lives in Christ – all gifts that are meant to be employed unto our salvation.

Our Youth Religious Education Program in comprised of five classes that nurture our children in the Faith from pre-school through high school.  Instruction takes place following the reception of the Eucharist on Sundays from September to June.

Catechism for our young adults as well as for our older stewards is also offered outside of Divine Services and throughout the week. Currently, our Parish offers three Bible Studies - Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening in our Fellowship Hall and every other Thursday evening in Grass Valley.  A 10 week “Studies in the Faith” is also offered in both the fall and the spring and the Archangel Gabriel Bookclub meets monthly.
